The original Olive B. McLin Community History Project led by USFSP’s Anthropology Professor Jay Sokolovsky in the late 1990s has been preserved by NNB on our portal. The project “Bus to Destiny” includes many pictures, oral histories and other important documents describing the lives of local African-American families.

In 2017, NNB partnered with USFSP’s English Professor Trey Conner’s class “Client Communication” to develop an update for the Olive B. McLin project. The update included a number of new descriptions, initiatives and stories produced by the students.
